Cardboard Fenway: 1955 Topps Harry Agganis

This card doesn't feature Fenway Park, but I had to include it because it's of the ultimate hometown hero—Harry Agganis. The guy was worshipped throughout the Boston area in the 1950s: He grew up in Lynn (just north of the city, home to Marshmallow Fluff), he was an All-America football player at Boston University, was drafted in two leagues (the Red Sox beat out the Cleveland Browns for his services), and he was set to star as the Red Sox' first baseman. Then, in the summer of 1955, he had a pulmonary embolism and died.

Street and placess all over Boston are named after him, including BU's giant new arena (Agganis Arena).
