Ok, now I get it. All of this erratic behavior was just a smokescreen to distract us from the real deal going down behind the scenes. As Bloomberg reports, replete with sports analogies here, Topps will be sold to a group helmed by Eisner for somewhere in the neighborhood of $385 million.
A while back I outlined six steps to save the hobby, and while this is not my exact plan, somewhat privatizing it is a step in the right direction (as long as they plan on lowering the cost of packs).
